Australia’s Aged Care Sector: Mid-Year Report (2024-25). UTS Ageing Research Collaborative.

Download (2.54 MB)

Australia’s aged care sector is entering a critical phase of reform implementation, shaped by
significant legislative, policy, and regulatory change. While the passage of the Aged Care Act
2024 (Cth) laid the foundation for a restructured care system centred on rights-based
principles and stronger governance, the operational and financial implications of reform are
now becoming evident. Both home care and residential care providers face tightening fiscal
conditions, evolving compliance obligations, and the urgent need to adapt to new funding
and pricing frameworks
