6-026 - iMOVE Milestone M004 Report V2.0

The iMOVE 6-026 AVAS soundscape project is a research-based initiative to produce a standardised, sector-specific Acoustic Vehicle Alerting System (AVAS) sound for Transport for NSW (TfNSW)'s growing fleet of Zero Emission Buses (ZEB). The project was conceived and initiated by TfNSW and executed in collaboration with a research team from the University of Technology Sydney and their research partners. This report covers the results and analysis of 7 separate empirical research studies to evaluate the effectiveness of a set of candidate AVAS sounds. It concludes with a series of recommendations made to the research partners to aid in the implementation of the new standard AVAS sound.<p></p>
